A chair overlooking a distant iceberg near Qeqertarsuaq, Disko Island.
Many things impressed me during my stay in Greenland. One of them is the importance that the inhabitants attach to communing with nature. A bench, a set of chairs and picnic tables, or, like here, a lone chair left to the elements, are a common, yet non-intrusive sight in Greenland. In each case, the location is accompanied with a view of a breathtaking vista, so that a weary traveler can sit down for a bit and just appreciate the world around us.
